Freddie Prinze Jr. and Sarah Michelle Gellar are celebrating 22 years of marriage, marking their status as one of pop culture’s enduring couples.

However, most of us remember them for their roles as Fred and Daphne in the live action Scooby Doo franchise.

The actors commemorated their anniversary on Sunday by sharing a joyful Instagram photo of them smiling and embracing on a balcony by the beach, with palm trees in the background.

Their caption was simple: “22,” accompanied by emojis of a diamond ring, champagne glasses, and a bride.

Prinze, 48, and Gellar, 47, first met while filming the 1997 horror movie I Know What You Did Last Summer and tied the knot on September 1, 2002 – the year the Scooby Doo film came out.

The couple has two children: Charlotte Grace, 14, and Rocky James, 11, who just started high school and middle school. Despite keeping a relatively low profile in Hollywood, both are still working.

Gellar will star in the upcoming Paramount+ series Dexter: Original Sin, premiering in December, while Prinze recently appeared in the summer thriller The Girl in the Pool, reuniting with his Head Over Heels co-star Monica Potter.
