Rare Shark Rescued from Rockpool off Gozo

From a Facebook post by Marine Biologist Alan Deidun earlier this week a specimen of angular rough shark (‘pixxiporku’ or ‘ġurdien’) was rescued after being trapped in a rockpool by a group of friends in the coast of Gozo.
After rescued the group released the shark back into the open water. This species reputedly brings bad luck and is thrown back into the sea by fishers.
Alan Deidun added, “I Believe its actually the other way round, that humans bring bad luck to sharks.”
