Rare Ribbonfish Caught In Maltese Waters

Marine biologist Alan Deidun recently shared some exciting news. A ribbonfish, also called dealfish or ‘fjamma’ in Maltese, was caught in Maltese waters.
The ribbonfish (Trachipterus trachypterus) is special because it can stand straight up in the water.
It has a long, thin body that makes it very interesting to see.
This ribbonfish was caught by local fisherman Ricky Mizzi.
