Professor Charmaine Gauci awarded Ġieħ ir-Repubblika

Professor Charmaine Gauci has been awarded Malta’s highest honour, the Ġieħ ir-Repubblika.

Superintendent of Public Health Charmaine Gauci received this honour for her work during the COVID-19 pandemic, along with virologist Chris Barbara and infectious disease expert Charles Mallia Azzopardi.

The Environmental Health Directorate has informed the public that certain products from Brinc’s Biscuits might contain Ethylene Oxide.

Ethylene Oxide is a pesticide which is not good for human consumption and its use is also unapproved.

The batches which might be affected are;

Brinc’s qagħaq tal-ġunġlien: all lots up to L20323 with best before dates up to 18-12-20.

Brinc’s ottini: lot numbers 20231-20325 and from best before dates 14-2-21 up to 19-5-21.

Man dead after falling 3 storeys at St. Peter’s Pool area

An Austrian man fell to his death this morning at around 8:40 AM in Delimara.

The man was certified dead at the scene.

An inquiry will be lead by Magistrate Nadine Lia.
