Today, Ryanair officially welcomed Prime Minister Robert Abela to celebrate its new office in Malta.

The state-of-the-art facility seeks to underline Ryanair’s ongoing commitment to the island and will enable the creation of up to 70 new jobs, extending Malta’s total workforce to over 500 highly skilled professionals including finance, HR, safety, IT, as well as pilots, cabin crew, and engineers.

Ryanair, the first European airline to carry 200 million passengers annually and the largest airline group in the country, is set for a record year in Malta. In 2025, the airline will operate 68 routes, transporting 5 million passengers.

This Winter, Ryanair will base an additional B737 aircraft in Malta which brings the total to nine vehicles, representing a further €100 million investment.

The airline will operate 57 Winter routes, including six new destinations: Glasgow, Gothenburg, Luxembourg, Newcastle, Norwich, and Palma. The CEO of Malta Air expressed his happiness with the Prime Minister’s attendance, and stated that this new “milestone allows us to expand our workforce, invest in simulator management, aircraft leasing, and maintenance operations, and further strengthen Malta as a centre of aviation excellence.”

He concluded that “Ryanair’s long-term commitment to Malta continues, supporting the economy, tourism, and high-skilled jobs for years to come.“

With this significant expansion, Ryanair continues to solidify its leadership in Malta, delivering record passenger numbers, increased routes, and substantial investment in the Maltese aviation sector.
