Prime Minister Robert Abela has reiterated Malta’s call for urgent and unhindered humanitarian aid to be allowed into Gaza, joining a number of other governments in appealing for immediate action.

Taking to Facebook, Abela highlighted the increasingly dire situation faced by civilians in the region, warning that the world cannot remain silent in the face of widespread suffering.

“Malta is among the countries whose governments are appealing for much-needed humanitarian aid to be allowed into Gaza without obstruction,” he wrote. “In a precarious situation where people are dying from hunger and thirst, we have never, and can never, remain silent.”

The Prime Minister’s remarks come amid growing international concern over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where shortages of food, water, medicine, and basic supplies have reached critical levels.

Abela emphasised that Malta will continue to stand by its humanitarian principles, advocating for the protection of civilians and the delivery of aid in accordance with international law.
