President Myriam Spiteri Debono paid a visit to the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre in Ta’ Qali to observe the final preparations for this year’s much-anticipated edition of Rockestra.

Now in its 15th year, Rockestra has become a staple event, drawing thousands in support of the Malta Community Chest Fund. During her visit, the President met with performers, including singers, musicians, and artists, as they completed their last rehearsals before Saturday’s show.

This year’s edition, themed The Big Jam, promises a fresh experience. For the first time, it will feature a unique ‘jam session’ concept, blending the talents of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra with local bands and vocalists in a dynamic, collaborative performance.

In her remarks, President Spiteri Debono thanked the artists for their dedication and encouraged the public to attend, highlighting that each ticket supports vital aid for individuals and families in need through the Malta Community Chest Fund.

Tickets for the show, scheduled for Saturday at 8:30 p.m., are available via ShowsHappening.

For the first time, Rockestra will also feature an Official After Party at Uno Malta, with local DJs keeping the energy going. Entry is free, though voluntary donations are welcomed in aid of the Fund.

PN Proposes Economic Plan To Boost Gozo-Malta Connection

PN Proposes Economic Plan To Boost Gozo-Malta Connection
Apr 11 2025 Share

As part of Workers’ Day 2025 commemorations, Nationalist Party (PN) Leader Bernard Grech visited Magro Brothers and their artisanal branch Savina in Gozo, a company that has grown from humble beginnings into a successful enterprise exporting Gozitan products abroad.

Grech used the visit to outline the PN’s economic vision, placing a strong emphasis on supporting entrepreneurship and improving infrastructure between Malta and Gozo.

Grech highlighted the Magro family’s success story as a clear example of what can be achieved through hard work, innovation, and determination—qualities that a future Nationalist Government intends to nurture across the islands.

He pledged that the PN will stand by workers and entrepreneurs who seek to expand their ideas, providing them with the necessary tools and support to grow.

A cornerstone of the PN’s proposal is a major investment in infrastructure, with a specific focus on improving connectivity between Malta and Gozo. This includes not only passenger transport, but also freight services, to make import, export, and inter-island business operations faster, more efficient, and less costly.

This infrastructure push forms part of the PN’s wider economic plan built around excellence and entrepreneurship. The party aims to eliminate bureaucratic hurdles and create a business-friendly environment that encourages innovation and long-term investment.

The PN Leader also visited Gozo Graphics, a printing company in Nadur, where he praised founder Jonathan Grech’s vision and contribution to the local economy.

Grech reaffirmed that under a Nationalist Government, businesses of all sizes will be given the chance to flourish through practical support and forward-thinking policies designed to benefit not just individual entrepreneurs, but the entire country.
