Balenciaga is a luxury fashion house founded by Spanish designer Cristóbal Balenciaga in 1919 in San Sebastian, Spain. Balenciaga became renowned for its innovative designs and impeccable craftsmanship, establishing itself as one of the leading haute couture houses in the world. Cristóbal Balenciaga’s designs were characterized by their architectural shapes, high-quality fabric, and meticulous attention to detail.

In 1937, Balenciaga opened his first fashion house in Paris, France, which quickly gained recognition for its avant-garde designs. One of Balenciaga’s notable collections in recent years is the “chip bag” collection, which was introduced by Demna Gvasalia, who took over as creative director in 2015. The collection featured handbags and accessories inspired by everyday objects, such as shopping bags, laundry bags, and, notably, chip bags. The chip bag collection included handbags crafted from metallic foil material resembling the packaging of potato chip bags. Balenciaga, a master at reinventing and altering the ordinary, makes a comeback with the ‘Chips’ clutch. This ‘Spicy Chilli’ flavor comes from leather that has been given a high-gloss sheen and crumpled appearance to mimic a chip bag. These bags made their debut at Paris Fashion Week teasing at the rumoured 2023 Spring/Summer Collection, although they are only out for PRE-ORDER now. A conversation starter that will undoubtedly draw attention to the occasion.
