Police arrest 29-year-old after discovery of cocaine & MDMA in vehicle

On Wednesday, the Marsascala Unit of the Malta Police Force arrested a 29-year-old after spotting a suspicious vehicle during a patrol.

The driver began to act suspicious as the police went on to search the vehicle, sustaining minor injuries due to the driver’s resistance to the police’s actions.

The police found 39 bags of what is suspected to be cocaine and MDMA, ready for trafficking and went on to find more drugs, banknotes and objects related to drug-trafficking in the man’s home.

The 29-year-old remains is currently police custody as investigations are currently under way.

It has been reported that Billie had already dyed her hair before the Grammys, where she went on to win Record of the Year with ‘Everything I Wanted’ but hid her blonde locks with a wig during her appearance and performance.

Malta has registered 243 new cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours from 4,760 swab tests, while 334 patients have recovered. This information was announced by the official Facebook page of Malta’s Ministry for Health.

As of Wednesday 17th March 2021, 133,871 vaccine doses were administered of which 41,621 were 2nd doses.

To date, Malta has registered 27,515 COVID-19 cases in total, of which: 24,118 have recovered, 363 died and 3,043 are still active.

52-year-old man found dead after Dwejra latrine ceiling collapses

A 52-year-old man was certified dead earlier today after the ceiling of a Dwejra latrine collapsed on top of him while he was working.

The Police were notified of the incident at around 09:30, which incident occurred at the Dwejra Public Latrine in the limits of San Lawrenz, Gozo.

Magistrate Dr. Bridgette Sultana LLD has opened an inquiry while investigations from District Police are currently under way.
