Gozitan MP Alex Borg took to social media to pay tribute to his late father Tony, who passed away after a battle with cancer in 2018.

Tony was 56 when he died and he was known for his continuous service to the Gozitans. Alex took the time to write a few words in loving memory of his beloved father.

‘You left us too early dad’ said Alex. ‘Today, more than ever, I remember all the beautiful moments we had together.’

‘But now that today I’m continuing your legacy, I feel your presence in every step I take. I will never forget the words you used to tell me as the end approached…’

‘If the day ever comes that we can’t be together, keep me in your heart’.

Tony had served as a mayor of Fontana and survived six years despite his diagnosis. His funeral was attended by Archbishop at the time Alfred Xuereb and President Emeritus Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca. Tony had gotten acquainted with the latter through the Malta Community Chest Fund.

Campus Hub parking dropped to €3 per day following backlash

Campus Hub parking dropped to €3 per day following backlash
Nov 2 2022 Share

It was revealed by Campus Hub Malta that, following the recent uproar by many, UoM students will pay €3 per day for parking.

The social media post revealed that eSims registration will be needed on demand as proof for payment and that the payment will take place at the security office.

This follows a social media influx of posts by many students who highlighted the expensive parking. Anyone parking between 4 to 5 hours was to pay €5.50, with anyone going over the 5 hour mark paying €6.50.

Anyone staying 13 hours or over, or anyone who lost their ticket, was to pay €12.00. The previous tariffs led to a protest being announced for this Friday against the tariffs.

The recent amendment did seemingly calm the situation to a degree, but many are still asking Campus Hub to take into consideration lecturers and other employees. It is unclear if the protest will still take place. More as this story develops.
