PN Meets with Malta ESG Alliance to Discuss Sustainable Future

Leader of the Partit Nazzjonalista, Alex Borg, led a delegation to a meeting with members of the Malta ESG Alliance to discuss strategies for promoting environmental, social, and governanceprinciples in Malta.
The MESGA serves as a platform for businesses to collaborate in raising national standards in environmental protection, quality of life, and ethical governance.
Representatives from various sectors, including banking, logistics, and tourism, shared insights on how their industries can contribute to these goals.
Borg highlighted that ESG principles were included in the PN’s 2022 electoral manifesto and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to shaping forward-looking policies.
He emphasised the importance of sustainability, long-term planning, and bipartisan cooperation—particularly on projects like a national mass transport system. He also proposed a Logistics Hub to improve efficiency and reduce emissions.
MESGA Chairperson David Xuereb welcomed the PN’s support, noting that political backing is vital for businesses to strengthen their ESG commitments. Members raised issues such as the uncertainty of environmental regulations and the need for ESG criteria in public procurement.
Both sides agreed to hold further meetings to align their visions for a more modern, sustainable, and ethically governed Malta.
