PN Calls Out Government For “Illegal” Works At Ta’ Qali’s Picnic Area.

PN calls out Government for “illegal” works at Ta’ Qali’s picnic area.
In a Press Release sent today, the Nationalist Party claimed that the Planning application PA/08356/24 is still under review and stated that despite this, the government still went ahead and covered the picnic area in Ta’ Qali with gravel.
The PN also stated that toilet concrete structures in the same area have been built without a permit and have been in place since February 2025. “The Government chose to proceed with the works on site, in blatant breach of the law,” claimed PN. They went on to explain how “ordinary citizens who do the same are fined or stopped immediately.”
Additionally, PN argued that the works in Ta’ Qali are not just “illegal”, but that the government “acted irresponsibly in one of the few remaining green” areas.
PN is now urging the Planning Authority to investigate immediately and enforce the law by removing the gravel and restoring the picnic area to its original state.
