eCabs Technologies has announced its expansion into Berlin and Bristol, bringing its ride-hailing platform to five international markets.
The news was shared during an official visit to the company’s new headquarters at Mercury Towers by Prime Minister Robert Abela and Transport Minister Chris Bonett.
CEO Matthew Bezzina revealed that the platform is now live in Berlin via Femride, a women-for-women ride-hailing service, and in Bristol — eCabs’ first city in the UK. These additions join the company’s existing operations in Malta, Athens, and Bucharest.
Bezzina also hinted at a sixth city launch in the near future. Reflecting on the company’s journey, he said, “What started 15 years ago in a small office in St Julian’s is now competing in major European cities.”
He added that the company’s growth proves Maltese tech can scale internationally, providing regulation-ready solutions tailored to the needs of mobility operators in complex environments.
This milestone follows the completion of an €18 million product development programme, one of Malta’s largest locally funded tech projects, which delivered a robust SaaS platform for regulated ride-hailing services.
Prime Minister Abela described the expansion as a strong example of how Maltese innovation is making a mark on the global stage.
