Prime Minister Robert Abela and his wife Lydia Abela welcomed the public into Castille during Notte Bianca, Valletta’s much-anticipated annual cultural celebration.

This rare gesture offered citizens a unique opportunity to engage directly with the Prime Minister and experience the historic building, which serves as the official office of Malta’s head of government.

In addition to opening the doors of Castille, the Abelas also took the time to meet with people outside, exchanging greetings and sharing in the festive atmosphere.

Notte Bianca transformed Valletta into a lively, open-air festival, bringing the city’s streets, squares, and historic landmarks to life.

The event featured over 70 artistic projects and performances by more than 350 artists, showcasing a rich mix of music, theatre, dance, and visual arts.

Many of the city’s palaces and museums stayed open late into the night, allowing residents and visitors alike to enjoy free access to Malta’s cultural heritage in an immersive and interactive setting.

Minister for Culture, Arts, and Local Government Owen Bonnici highlighted the event’s importance in fostering community ties and strengthening Malta’s cultural identity.

He also noted the growing international appeal of Notte Bianca, which continues to attract increasing numbers of tourists each year, cementing Valletta’s reputation as a vibrant hub of arts and culture.
