People with Down Syndrome Run a Cafe with Dignity and Purpose

In a heartwarming event that radiated the spirit of inclusion and empowerment, individuals with Down Syndrome took center stage in a cafe for a day, showcasing their abilities, talents, and zest for life. Organised by the Maltese Down Syndrome Association, this initiative allowed these remarkable individuals to not only integrate further into society but also demonstrate their skills to the public. The event, which received widespread acclaim, aims to become a recurring monthly celebration of inclusivity.

On the day of the event, prominent figures including Prime Minister Robert Abela, Member of the European Parliament Cyrus Engerer, and Members of Parliament Randolph De Battista and Graziella Galea graced the occasion with their presence.

The event took place in the renovated offices of the Maltese Association of Down Syndrome, a project made possible through government investment in collaboration with the Ministry for Inclusion, Voluntary and Consumer Rights.
