The family of 23-year-old David Wellman, who recently passed away, has raised over €3,000 in his memory as a donation to the NGO Puttinu Cares, in honor of what would have been his birthday.
David tragically passed away on September 3rd after sustaining head injuries while working at his private residence in Ħal Tarxien.

The 76th Emmy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday saw Hollywood’s top stars flaunting their fashion, but it was a person dressed as a banana who stole the show.
The individual behind the viral costume was Nymphia Wind, the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 16. Wind, a Taiwanese American drag performer, donned a lime green bodysuit and pointed-toe heels, mostly concealing their body.
The standout feature was a golden, half-peeled banana outfit with large peel sections Wind pushed down to reveal their face, topped with a wiry black hairpiece.

Social media buzzed with reactions to the quirky look. One user joked about the costume being nightmare fuel, while another humorously referred to Wind as a “Jane Goodall impersonator.”
Some reactions were more critical, but Wind’s bold appearance captured wide attention.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly after winning RuPaul’s Drag Race, Wind reflected on overcoming cultural expectations to be quiet and subtle, sharing that self-confidence has been a lifelong challenge.
Despite the ups and downs, Wind emphasised the importance of embracing both good and bad days. The banana costume highlighted Wind’s unique personality and flair, making an unforgettable statement at the Emmys.

The 2024 Emmy Awards celebrated television’s best, with “Hacks” and “Shōgun” emerging as major winners.
FX’s “The Bear,” which led with 23 nominations (the most ever for a comedy series), won key categories including best lead actor, supporting actor and actress, but HBO’s “Hacks” claimed the top honour for best comedy series.
“Shōgun,” which had the most nominations of any show with 25, dominated the night by winning best drama series.
Hiroyuki Sanada and Anna Sawai took home best actor and actress in a drama series. With its Creative Arts Emmy wins, “Shōgun” set a record, earning 18 total Emmys for its first season, the most ever for a single season.
The ceremony marked the second Emmy event of the year, following the delayed 75th Primetime Emmy Awards held in January due to the writers’ and actors’ strikes in 2023. Hosted by Dan and Eugene Levy of “Schitt’s Creek,” the event was broadcast live from the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles on ABC.

Donald Trump recently expressed his dislike for Taylor Swift after the pop star endorsed his Democratic opponent, Kamala Harris, for president.
In an all-caps post on his Truth Social account, Trump declared, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” This came after Swift informed her 284 million Instagram followers that she planned to vote for Harris, citing the vice president’s advocacy for issues she believes in.
Initially, Trump downplayed Swift’s endorsement, saying he wasn’t a fan, but as polls show Harris gaining ground, he escalated his criticism.
Swift’s endorsement garnered over nine million likes, sparking speculation that it could influence the election.
However, many argue that celebrity endorsements have limited impact on voter decisions, especially since Swift’s fans likely lean Democratic already.
Following Trump’s outburst, Twitter and other social media platforms exploded with posts by supporters of the singer, sharing memes and using quotes from her own songs to poke fun at the Republican nominee.
