Over 60,000 People Attend Valletta new Year’s Eve Celebrations

More than 60,000 people attended New Year’s Eve celebrations in Valletta.

Large crowds, including thousands of tourists, gathered in St. George’s Square, the main streets of Valletta, and around the Grand Harbour to ring in the new year, 2025.

The major celebrations in Valletta featured a spectacular show in St. George’s Square with performances by local artists Shaun Farrugia, Ira Losco, and Red Electric, among others. The event peaked with a performance by world-renowned artist Cascada.

At midnight, fireworks illuminated the Grand Harbour. Large crowds gathered at various observation points around the harbour to witness the stunning display set against the beautiful backdrop of the Grand Harbour.

The event was hosted by local presenters Dorianne Mamo, Owen Bonnici, Keane Cutajar, and Taryn Mamo Cefai.

Some Rain Showers For 2025’s First Weekend

According to weather reports, the first weekend of 2025 is set to bring some isolated rain showers, marking off the beginning of something new.

The first day of 2025, Wednesday 1st January – that’s going to take some getting used to – will be partly cloudy, urging most to go out and enjoy the day.

Temperatures will drop as low as 10 degrees Celsius, giving us that cool breeze as we bask in the sun.

The weekend is set to bring some isolated rain showers starting Friday into Saturday, but will relatively clear as the next week progresses.

He urged long-term initiatives beyond electoral cycles and highlighted Malta’s potential in adapting to technological revolutions.

Last but not least, European Parliament President Roberta Metsola spoke about how hope was found despite the darkness of war in a year of elections and change. She described Europe as a beacon of light and a superpower of human rights.
