Government Rules Out Raising Statutory Retirement Age Beyond 65

In a recent Parliamentary Questions session, Minister for Social Policy and Children’s Rights Michael Falzon revealed that the government will not be raising the statutory retirement age beyond 65.

The discussion was brought about by Nationalist MP Graziella Attard Previ, who asked the minister whether the government have plans to raise the retirement age.

Minister Michael Falzon categorically rejected the notion that the government was planning to raise the statutory retirement age, even stating that the government has made it clear that they will not be raising the retirement age.

Falzon also reminded Attard Previ that the last time the retirement age was changed was all the way back in 2006.

Maltese wig and hair colour artist Stella Cini has been ranked fourth in a list of the Top 60 Wig Influencers in 2025.

Stella Cini celebrated the achievement on her social media, expressing how elated she was at being on the same list as ‘tokyostylez’ (ranked number 1 – a.k.a Mia the Baddest) and ‘msroshposh’ (ranked 49th – Raschelle Smith Clare).

Boasting 795K, Stella has been producing wig, hair, makeup and fashion content in the local scene for a while and established herself as one of the most prominent female influencers.

This ranking follows a similar achievement by makeup artist Henry Galea, who ranked 9th in a list of top 45 SFX makeup influencers in 2025.
