The Centre for Speech Pathology’s services are receiving a boost with the implementation of the SpeakTX platform.
This initiative was announced during a visit by Health and Active Ageing Minister Jo Etienne Abela and Maltese Ambassador to Finland and Estonia, Kenneth Vella, to the centre.
Through a collaboration between Primary Health Care and SpeakTX representatives from Estonia, an interactive online platform is being introduced as part of speech pathology therapy. This digital tool will also track patient progress, whether they use it during sessions at Community Clinics, Health Centres, or from home.
It was also highlighted that following the establishment of Speech Pathology as a primary service in Primary Health Care, its quality and accessibility will be further enhanced through technological integration.
Minister Jo Etienne Abela underscored how this collaboration will assist numerous individuals facing speech challenges. He stressed that the digital platform will also support professionals in delivering top-notch service in this domain.
Maltese Ambassador Kenneth Vella expressed gratitude to the Estonian representatives and Primary Health Care for their collaborative efforts, which will benefit the Maltese populace. He emphasised that this agreement solidifies the strong bilateral relations between the two nations and complements other collaborative ventures across education, diplomacy, culture, sports, and tourism.
