November 15th is officially recognised as Steve Irwin Day, a tribute to the beloved wildlife conservationist known as “The Crocodile Hunter.”
The date was chosen to honour the birthday of one of Irwin’s favourite animals, a Galápagos tortoise.
Steve Irwin captured the hearts of millions with his boundless enthusiasm, khaki-clad adventures, and passionate advocacy for animal conservation. Alongside his wife, Terri Raines, he transformed Australia Zoo into a global hub for wildlife education and preservation.

The couple raised their children, Bindi and Robert, instilling in them the same dedication to protecting the planet.
Today, the Irwin family continues his legacy, championing conservation through public outreach and their Wildlife Warriors foundation.
Irwin’s life was tragically cut short on September 4, 2006, when he was fatally injured by a stingray while filming in the Great Barrier Reef.
Despite his untimely passing, his impact endures, inspiring countless individuals to care for and protect the environment.
On Steve Irwin Day, fans and conservationists worldwide celebrate his legacy through fundraising events and by donning his signature khaki attire, keeping his spirit alive in the fight for wildlife conservation.
