Tourism Minister Clayton Bartolo spoke at a press conference this morning, expressing his pleasure in welcoming the globally recognised brand Nickelodeon back to Malta.
He emphasised that this event will help to build on the positive momentum that Malta has achieved in the tourism industry in recent months and years, and will contribute to the development of new tourism niches on the island. Bartolo also highlighted that the event’s primary goal is to provide free entertainment to Maltese families.
The Nickelodeon Treasure Hunt Malta, a popular experiential tourism franchise, will return for its third edition on May 27th and 28th, 2023, in Valletta. The event will feature new activities, including character-themed zones, such as SpongeBob SquarePants, PAW Patrol, Transformers, and Baby Shark.
The zones will be spread across several locations in Valletta, with a Nickelodeon Treasure Hunt map guiding children and families. The event will also offer exclusive giveaways, interactive augmented reality photo experiences, and character meet and greets. The activities will culminate in Nickelodeon Parades on both days, starting from Republic Street and ending in Triton Square.
The event is free to enter, with no registration or tickets required. Lee Sears, Executive Vice President and General Manager, International Digital and Ad Sales at Paramount, expressed his excitement about bringing the Nickelodeon world to Malta and providing opportunities for families to explore the island.
