A new state-of-the-art CT scan machine has been officially inaugurated at San Vinċenz de Paul Residence, following an investment of €1.48 million.

Designed to be highly efficient and fully accessible, the new equipment caters even to patients with limited mobility, ensuring that no one is left behind when it comes to vital diagnostic care.

Funded through European Union support, the CT scanner will primarily benefit residents of San Vinċenz de Paul by providing on-site imaging services without the need for hospital referrals.

However, its impact extends further, patients from other elderly care homes, as well as individuals over the age of 65 who are still living in the community, will also have access to the service.

This investment forms part of a broader effort to strengthen radiography services at the residence. In recent months, San Vinċenz de Paul has also received two portable X-ray machines and a new bone density scanner, significantly enhancing the facility’s diagnostic capabilities.

These upgrades aim to improve the overall quality of care and reduce waiting times for elderly patients, aligning with national strategies to modernise health services and ensure accessibility for all.
