The show quickly achieved unprecedented success on Netflix, becoming the platform’s most-watched series with 1.65 billion viewing hours in its first four weeks. 

“Squid Game” transcended television, sparking a cultural phenomenon that included a reality competition spin-off, inspiring countless Halloween costumes, and triggering a remarkable 7800% surge in sales of the white slip-on Vans worn by the characters.

Anticipation for a second season mounted swiftly, with fans speculating on potential plot developments and release dates. Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk hinted at exploring the intriguing storyline of the ‘Front Man’ and his brother, the police officer who infiltrated the game in the first season. 

Additionally, he expressed interest in delving into the narrative of the recruiter in the suit who engages in the game of “ddajki” with Gi-hun, the protagonist.

The finale of the first season saw Gi-hun, armed with newfound wealth, opting to return to the Squid Game complex, suggesting a pursuit of revenge. Season two is expected to see Gi-hun confronting the enigmatic figures behind the masks in a continuation of the intense and mysterious narrative.

Proud Moment As Malta Police Force Welcomes 35 New Recruits

In a significant addition to its ranks, the Malta Police Force proudly welcomed 35 new recruits as Police Constables in a ceremony filled with pride and honour. The event, attended by colleagues, friends, and family, was not just a celebration but a testament to the dedication and hard work of these individuals.

 

Currently, 55 recruits are diligently undergoing training, aspiring to join the esteemed ranks of the Malta Police Force in the near future. This ongoing training underscores the force’s commitment to excellence and the continuous enhancement of its capabilities.

During the ceremony, Police Commissioner Angelo Gafà took the opportunity to highlight the positive outcomes of an Employee Engagement Survey, which revealed high levels of pride and motivation among the members of the force.

He encouraged the new officers to embody the spirit of professionalism and dedication, which is crucial in fostering greater public trust and confidence. Commissioner Gafà pointed to the latest NSO Survey report and the Eurobarometer Survey report as evidence of the growing esteem in which the Malta Police is held, attributing this success to the professionalism and commitment of its members.

The Spontaneous Nadur Carnival, hosted by Malta Daily, has officially announced its electrifying line-up for this year’s festivities, promising a weekend packed with music, dance, and unparalleled carnival spirit. The Nadur celebrations are set to showcase an impressive roster of talent on the Main Stage, House Stage, and the nostalgic 90s Stage, ensuring a diverse musical experience for all attendees.

Friday’s Main Stage will come alive with the enchanting voices of Denise, Drakard, Megan May, and Sarah Bonnici, alongside a dynamic selection of DJs including Dodz, Gabii, Joshua, Koroma, and Miggy. The House Stage will feature the mesmerizing beats of Alessia De Martino and DOM, while Joshua takes over the 90s Stage. The afterparty will shift back to Aurora for the District’s Arctic Disco, promising a night filled with house music vibes.

Sunday and Monday offer a more relaxed yet equally thrilling lineup with Alessia De Martino and Joshua returning to the House and 90s Stages, respectively, and Alex Grech bringing back hits from the 80s and 90s.

Hosting the entire weekend is Malta Daily’s own Keane, ensuring the carnival is nothing short of spectacular. The Spontaneous Nadur Carnival is poised to be an unforgettable celebration, blending the best of music with the festive joy of carnival.
