Netflix Orders ‘Twilight’ Animated Series Based on Stephenie Meyer’s ‘Midnight Sun’

Netflix has officially green lit a Twilight animated series, adapting Stephenie Meyer’s 2020 novel Midnight Sun, a retelling of Twilight from Edward Cullen’s perspective. The series is being developed by Lionsgate Television, the same company behind the original Twilight film saga, and will be written and executive produced by Sinead Daly (Tell Me Lies).

Meyer, creator of the globally successful Twilight series, is also executive producing the project alongside Meghan Hibbett for Fickle Fish Films. Temple Hill Entertainment’s Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen, who produced the Twilight films, will join Erik Feig and Samie Kim Falvey from Picturestart as executive producers.

Midnight Sun delves deeper into Edward Cullen’s perspective, a narrative that had a significant influence on Robert Pattinson’s portrayal of the character in the 2008 film. The animated series adds a new dimension to the beloved saga, promising to captivate both long-time fans and new audiences.

This adaptation has been in development for over a year, as part of Lionsgate’s strategy to expand its signature franchises. Alongside Twilight, the company is working on a TV series from its John Wick franchise.

Footballer Suffers Back Injury After ‘Hefty Sneeze’

Bolton Wanderers striker Victor Adeboyejo missed their EFL Trophy win at Barrow on Tuesday after injuring himself following a “hefty sneeze.” The 26-year-old sustained a back injury on Monday, which was triggered by the sneeze, according to manager Ian Evatt.

Despite Adeboyejo’s absence, Bolton secured a 3-2 victory to kick off their EFL Trophy campaign on a high note.

“He had a pretty hefty sneeze – now Victor is a powerful boy, and even his sneezes are powerful,” Evatt told the Bolton News. “He felt a bit of a crack between his ribs, and we hope it’s just a cartilage or muscular issue, but we’ll know more after the scan.”

Bolton, who have only won once in League One this season, are dealing with several player absences due to injuries and the international break.
“I need to start questioning things when players are getting injured from sneezing,” Evatt joked. “But that’s just how things are going right now, and we have to handle it.”

A taxi driver’s intervention likely saved a woman from a violent assault by her ex-boyfriend, a court report by MaltaToday details.

The suspect  was arraigned on charges of intimidating, insulting, and causing slight injuries to his former girlfriend.

The incident reportedly occurred on September 4, after their three-year relationship had ended 18 months earlier.

Despite their breakup, the suspect allegedly continued to control and threaten her, as they still lived and worked together.

On the night of the incident, the suspect was reportedly heavily intoxicated and became aggressive after seeing the woman using her phone.

He violently shook her, claiming she was “his alone” and forbidding her from talking to anyone else. Later, he insisted she share a taxi with him, and despite her refusal, she complied.

Upon arriving at their flat, he once again assaulted her. The taxi driver, witnessing the violence, intervened and restrained him until the police arrived.

During the arrest, the suspect allegedly threatened to kill the woman, while reeking of alcohol. He initially pleaded guilty but later changed his plea to not guilty.

He now faces up to five years in prison and a fine of up to €15,000. Bail was not requested.
