Essential Maintenance Project Completed At Żurrieq’s Nigret Sisters’ Institute

Sep 24 2024 Share

The Public Works Department has completed a vital maintenance project at the Nigret Sisters’ Institute in Żurrieq, a project highly valued by both the Sisters and their beneficiaries.
During a site visit, Parliamentary Secretary for Public Works, Omar Farrugia, emphasised that this project demonstrates the government’s commitment to supporting social groups that play a crucial role in Maltese society.

“The maintenance work at the Institute is essential in ensuring the sustainability of the Sisters’ services,” Farrugia stated. He also noted that the upgrades improve health and safety for residents and those benefiting from the Sisters’ vocational work.

This project is part of a broader initiative involving culturally and historically significant buildings across Malta. Secretary Farrugia highlighted ongoing works, including restoring St. Mark’s Church bell tower in Rabat, paving and lighting at De Rohan Arch in Ħaż-Żebbuġ, and improvements at St. Nicholas Church in Siġġiewi.

Żurrieq Archpriest Fr Daniel Cardona praised the efforts, while Żurrieq Mayor Rita Grima accompanied Farrugia on the visit.
