Nearly 1 Million Passengers Travelled Through Malta International Airport in June

Statistics released by the Malta International Airport have revealed that nearly 1 million passengers and tourists travelled through the MIA in the month of June.
The exact number of travellers who passed through the MIA during June, was 923,374, with operations reaching their peak on Thursday, the 26th of June.
The 26th of June saw a massive 35,571 passengers travelling on 218 flights from and to the Malta International Airport.
Aircraft movements in June saw a year-on-year increase of 4.5 per cent, reflecting a steady growth in air traffic. Meanwhile, the seat load factor for the month reached 86.8 per cent, representing a slight improvement of 0.2 percentage points compared to the same period last year.
This figure marks the highest monthly seat occupancy rate recorded so far in 2025, highlighting continued strong demand for air travel.
The United Kingdom maintained its position as the leading source of passenger traffic, contributing 22.4 per cent of total aircraft movements for the month.
Italy followed closely, accounting for 20.2 per cent of the traffic, demonstrating its importance as a key market.
Germany occupied third place with a share of 7.4 per cent, while Poland and France rounded out the top five, contributing 7.0 per cent and 6.7 per cent respectively.
