Nearly 1.93 Million Passengers Travelled Between Malta and Gozo In Just Three Months

Passenger numbers and vehicle crossings between Malta and Gozo continued to rise in the second quarter of 2025, with notable growth on the Valletta fast ferry route.

Between April and June, 11,642 sea trips were made, carrying 1.93 million passengers. June was the busiest month, accounting for over a third of all trips.

The main ferry route between Mġarr and Ċirkewwa saw 1.59 million passengers, a 3.5% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Vehicle crossings rose by 3.9%, totalling 548,423. April recorded the highest number of passengers, while June had the most trips.

The Valletta route showed strong growth, with 2,717 trips and 335,770 passengers, a 15.3% rise in trips and 32.7% increase in passenger numbers year-on-year.
