Nationalist Party candidate Lee Bugeja Bartolo has sparked controversy after sharing his views on Malta’s participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2026.
In a Facebook post, Bugeja Bartolo wrote: “Malta should follow Spain, Iceland and Slovenia and withdraw from Eurovision Song Contest 2026 unless Israel is banned from participating. There is zero unity (whether in music or otherwise) if we turn a blind eye, smile, clap (and even worse award points) to a country that is clearly committing genocide.”#MaltaDaily
