From the surviving Roman court transcripts comes the story of one woman’s fight for truth against all odds.

This October, painter Artemisia Gentileschi’s true life story of assault, betrayal and triumph unfolds like never before in Breach Theatre’s NAĦLIFLEK, directed by Marta Vella.

The theatre performance stars Kim Dalli, Clare Agius and Sarah-Lee Zammit and will be staged, for a one-of-a-kind run, in Valletta’s picturesque Our Lady of the Pilar Church.

Performed for the first time in Maltese, watch as the gruelling seven-month trial of the formidable icon of Baroque art and the Caravaggio movement, who captivated Rome, is recounted through this critically acclaimed production that blends myth, history and contemporary commentary to tell the powerful story of the woman behind the paintings of a generation.

NAĦLIFLEK is translated by Kim Dalli, produced by Daniel Azzopardi and features the participation of artists Claire Tonna and Analise Mifsud.
