Local music producer Matthew ‘Muxu’ Mercieca shared a heartbreaking post in honour of his late cousin, Jan Pace.

Jan Pace was found deceased this past weekend after a missing persons report prompted a search.

‘Jan, my cousin, my best friend, the brother I always wished for, the most beautiful soul I’ve been lucky to grow up with. This one hurts deep’, wrote Muxu.

‘When life was hard, you were always there to make sure we laughed and felt better, and when things went well, you were always there to celebrate us. You were always everyone’s biggest cheerleader, making sure everyone felt loved.’

‘We did so much growing together and I’ve never had to know life without you, and I know this is going to take a lot of healing.’

‘The funniest person I know, one of my favourite people. So, so, so, so, so kind and caring and full of love to give. From our very first boyband ‘The Funky Boys’ to our days at school, to our imaginary friends, to our animation show (which we used to make our own family pay to watch), to living together in London, to Emily and Lucy, to Beyoncé and Shakira, to Kuzzbuzz.’

‘So to our Jan, our hun, may you rest peacefully. I will love you forever’, he concluded.

Jan will be laid to rest today, Friday 18th July, at Naxxar’s Sanctuary of Divine mercy at 9:30am.
