Msida Celebrates Festa Week With Traditional Ġostra

The traditional Ġostra event took place yesterday in Msida as part of the town’s annual festa celebrations, drawing enthusiastic crowds to the event.
The Ġostra, a long-standing Maltese tradition, involves a wooden pole covered in grease and suspended over the sea. Participants attempt to run along the slippery pole and grab a flag positioned at its end, often falling into the water in the process.
This year’s event saw three individuals successfully catch the flag, earning loud cheers from onlookers who gathered as part of the festa week festivities. The event is a staple of the Msida feast and continues to be one of the most anticipated highlights of the celebratory week.
