YouTube sensation MrBeast, also known as Jimmy Donaldson, is making headlines once again with his latest extravagant giveaway. In celebration of his 26th birthday, Donaldson announced on social media that he would be gifting 26 Tesla vehicles to lucky followers. This jaw-dropping display of generosity has captured the attention of millions worldwide.

The giveaway, which was revealed in a video posted on Instagram, features Donaldson surrounded by 25 Tesla Model 3s and a single Cybertruck, the grand prize of the contest. To enter, participants simply need to comment on the original Instagram post and tag two friends. The giveaway is open to residents of select countries, including the U.S., Australia, Canada, and others, with entrants needing to be 18 years of age or older. Canadians and Mexicans will be required to answer a skill testing question to claim their prize.

According to the contest guidelines, the entry period lasts from May 7th to May 10th, with winners set to be announced on May 14th. Those selected will be contacted via Instagram direct message and may need to sign a release.

It’s worth noting that the giveaway is not sponsored by Tesla, despite the electric car company being a frequent feature in MrBeast’s videos. Winners will have the option to choose between receiving the vehicle or a cash prize of US$39,000 for the Model 3 or US$120,000 for the Cybertruck.

MrBeast’s influence extends far beyond YouTube, where he boasts over 256 million subscribers. With 29 million followers on X and 52 million on Instagram, his reach is undeniable. His latest giveaway, hosted on Meta Platforms-owned Instagram, has further solidified his status as one of the most followed content creators.

The timing of the giveaway coincides with MrBeast’s ongoing tradition of surprising his audience with extravagant gifts, often featuring Tesla vehicles. This particular contest, however, marks a milestone in celebration of his own birthday, showcasing his commitment to giving back to his loyal fanbase.

Billionaire Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and owner of X, has yet to publicly acknowledge the giveaway, but his company’s vehicles continue to be a central focus in MrBeast’s content.

As the contest gains momentum, fans eagerly await the announcement of the lucky winners, anticipating the life-changing moment that could see them driving away in their very own Tesla, courtesy of MrBeast.

PBS, BA Violated PN’s Rights, Court Finds

PBS, BA Violated PN's Rights, Court Finds
May 8 2024 Share

In a recent judgment, Mr. Justice Lawrence Mintoff found that public broadcaster PBS and its regulator, the Broadcasting Authority (BA), violated the Nationalist Party’s fundamental rights by failing to air footage from inside and outside parliament regarding a motion for a public inquiry into JP Sofia’s death on July 12, 2023.

Each entity was ordered to pay €2,000 in compensation for this breach. To prevent misrepresentation, the judge mandated a “faithful summary” of the decision to be prominently broadcast on PBS during the 8pm news bulletin within a week of the judgment becoming final.

The PN had initiated legal action, accusing PBS and the BA of perpetuating censorship against criticisms of Prime Minister Robert Abela.

Despite previous complaints to the BA, which acknowledged PBS’s reporting lapse but failed to enforce compliance, the court deemed PBS’s behavior discriminatory and violative of constitutional duties and European human rights laws.

PBS’s failure to provide valid justifications for its actions contributed to an imbalance in reporting, prompting the court’s ruling. Lawyer Paul Borg Olivier represented the PN in the case.
