Moviment Graffitti leader Andre Callus has taken to Facebook to express his deep frustration at both global and Maltese inaction in the face of what he described as a “holocaust” unfolding in Gaza.

Callus wrote, “Children are dying of starvation, looking like skeletons, right before our eyes. Children, the elderly, women, and men are begging for a sip of water and a bit of flour — on the very edge of death.”

He went on to condemn what he called the hypocrisy of Prime Minister Robert Abela posing with Palestinian children at Malta’s airport, “while at the same time, Malta is doing absolutely nothing to oppose the ongoing genocide.”

The activist also highlighted Malta’s inaction, noting that the country has yet to call for sanctions against Israel, recognise Palestine as a state, or withdraw the Maltese flag from vessels transporting arms to Israel.

“I can’t take this any longer. Nothing has ever affected me like these never-ending months of genocide in Gaza […] Two million people are starving to death before our eyes, and still, no action is being taken.”

In response, Moviment Graffitti is organising a protest titled “Empty Pots March from Triton Fountain to Castille” on 29th July, starting at 6:30pm. The demonstration aims to demand real and urgent action from the Maltese Government against Israel’s use of starvation as a weapon of war in Gaza.
