Move Smart: Moving Safely On Roads

Let’s face it … if we want safer roads and smarter transport, the message has to start with YOU. That’s exactly what Transport Malta had in mind when it teamed up with MCAST students for a fresh take on sustainable mobility.

Instead of going with the usual campaigns, Transport Malta gave the next generation the mic and told them: “Tell us what you think road safety looks like and make it real.”

The result?

A creative campaign that’s slick, smart and not just for young people, but by young people.

This campaign is more than just awareness; it is about action. It brings students into the heart of reality, giving them the chance to apply their creative skills to a national project with real impact. From scripting and filming to messaging and editing, students were involved in every step of the process. The aim is a fresh, relatable, and powerful message about being safe on the road, whether as a driver, cyclist, passenger, or pedestrian.

The initiative also shows Transport Malta’s commitment to opening doors for future generations, not just as road users, but as collaborators. The aim was clear: to communicate with youth in their own style, in their own words, and on their own terms. It’s a youth-to-youth message that speaks directly to the reality of being on the road today; distracted walking, headphone use, phone scrolling, and how small habits can lead to big risks.

Sustainable mobility is more than electric cars and bike lanes. It’s about creating a transport system that’s accessible, safe, and inclusive for all. And who better to carry that message forward than those who will shape the future of mobility themselves?

This project proves that when you trust young people with a mission, they deliver creatively, boldly, and with purpose. The Authority is proud to act as a launchpad for the next generation of road safety leaders.
