Taking to social media, photographer and digital creator Daniel Cilia shared a photograph he managed to snap of Sicily’s Mount Etna from behind the Great Siege Bell of Fort St Angelo in Vittoriosa.
The photo was taken yesterday morning at 06:20am from the roof of a boutique hotel in Senglea.
‘When some years ago I did the photography for ‘The Snop House’ – a small but beautiful hotel decorated with beautiful contemporary art – in the centre of Senglea, I realised that from its roof Etna rose exactly behind Fort St Angelo’, explained Cilia.
‘I asked its creator and owner Olivier Plique if I could access the roof yesterday morning when the horizontal visibility was more than 70km.’
‘I was on the roof by 5.30 am and it was worth it!’
