Croatia has had quite a World Cup journey so far but it seems like the fans in the stands are making as much noise as the players.

Nicknamed by some as the World Cup’s ‘sexiest’ fan, Miss Croatia Ivana Knoll has been catching the attention of locals and international visitors alike with her Croatia-branded outfits.

While others have criticised the model for her ‘disrespectful outfits’, Knoll remains adamant on her approach, stating that she will never be afraid of being arrested for something like that.

“I was super angry because if I’m not a Muslim and if we in Europe respect hijab and niqab, I think they need also to respect our way of life, our religion and in the end me wearing dresses, bikinis because I’m Catholic from Croatia who is here because of the World Cup,” Knoll stated.

Despite this, she went on to reveal that she was surprised at the fact that no one was creating any problems and was allowed to wear anything she wanted, except in government buildings, which she accepted.

Portugal beat Switzerland to progress to quarter finals

Dec 6 2022 Share

Portugal have beaten Switzerland with the help from young striker Goncalo Ramos who scored a spectacular hattrick to help his country progress to the quarter final.

Portugal went into the first half searching for a goal and that is what they got in the 17th minute from a powerful shot by Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos who put his name on the map after replacing Ronaldo in the line up.

The Portuguese managed to find another goal in the 33rd minute this time a header from a corner by experienced center back Pepe.

Ramos managed to get another goal under his name in the 50th minute to completely shut down any hopes of a Switzerland come back. The chaotic Switzerland defence led to yet another Portugal goal in the 55th minute this time scored by left back Raphaël Guerreiro.

Only two minutes later, Switzerland managed to get a goal back through defender Manuel Akanji slightly touching the ball from a well taken corner.

It was Goncalo Ramos’s night as in the 66th minute the fast striker scored his hattrick and managed to become the first player at this World Cup to score a hattrick and prove wrong all the doubts he had pre game for replacing a legend of the game in Ronaldo.

To place the cherry on the cake, AC Milan forward Rafael Leao scored a wonderful floating effort in the 92nd minute.

They will now focus on their important quarter final tie against underdogs Morocco who have just beaten Spain.

Morocco shock the world and knock out Spain out of the World Cup

Dec 6 2022 Share

Morocco have shocked the world and have beaten footballing giants Spain in a tense match which ended in a dramatic penalty shootout going the way of the north Africans.

The game was very close between the two countries with no one managing to score a goal in the full ninety minutes, despite Spain dominating the possession stats as usual.

Extra time was also not enough to separate the two team even though they both had more than one clear cut chances to score.

Moroccan keeper Yassine Bounou was the hero of the penalty shootout saving two of Spain’s three penalties which led PSG superstar Achraf Hakimi scoring a lovely panenka penalty to send his country to the next round of the World Cup and Spain back home.

They will now face the winner of the Portugal vs Switzerland tie in the quarter finals, hoping to continue their dream run.
