Scary Movie To Return With 6th Film After 11 Years

Scary Movie To Return With 6th Film After 11 Years
Apr 17 2024 Share

After an eleven-year hiatus, the Scary Movie franchise is set for a revival with the greenlight given to a new installment by Miramax at Paramount, targeting a 2025 theatrical release.

The project, likely titled Scary Movie 6, is under the leadership of new Paramount head Jonathan Glickman. As of now, details about attached writers or directors remain undisclosed.

The original Scary Movie debuted in 2000, directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans, with a screenplay by various contributors including Shawn Wayans, Marlon Wayans, and others. Wayans continued his involvement in Scary Movie 2 (2001) as director and screenwriter alongside a larger creative team.

For subsequent films, there were changes in direction and writing teams. David Zucker took over for Scary Movie 3 (2003) and Scary Movie 4 (2006), alongside writers Craig Mazin and Pat Proft. In 2013, Malcolm D. Lee directed Scary Movie 5, penned by Pat Proft and David Zucker.

The franchise’s financial success varied, with the original film costing $19 million and grossing $278 million worldwide. Budgets increased for sequels until Scary Movie 5, which had a reduced budget of $20 million due to its lower box office earnings of $78 million and absence of key cast members Anna Faris and Regina Hall.

Fans await news on the creative team behind Scary Movie 6, including potential returns of Faris and Hall. Are you excited for the franchise’s return?

Easter Measures Hottest 27.9°C During Month Of March

Easter Measures Hottest 27.9°C During Month Of March
Apr 17 2024 Share

In March 2024, the Maltese Islands experienced notably dry and warm weather, consistent with trends observed earlier in the year and in late 2023.

Rainfall for the month totalled only 8.8mm, significantly lower than the expected 39.7mm for this time of year. Unlike the typical occurrence of two thunderstorms in March, there were none recorded this year, although two instances of fog exceeded the usual one foggy day.

The mean temperature was 15.8°C, warmer by 1.7°C compared to normal, and on Easter Sunday (March 31st), temperatures peaked at 27.9°C, offering a taste of summer. The highest temperature on record for March remains 33.5°C, recorded in 2001. Conversely, the lowest temperature in March 2024 dropped to 8.6°C on the 15th.

March also saw abundant sunshine, with 263.7 hours recorded, exceeding the norm by 38.9 hours. The brightest day was March 28th, with 10.8 hours of sunshine, while March 26th had the least sunlight due to dust suspension, with just over an hour of sunshine recorded.

These weather conditions were influenced by a low-pressure system extending from Western Europe to Algeria, causing strong winds over the Sahara Desert that reached the Maltese Islands. The average wind speed for March was 9.6 knots, and the strongest gust, reaching 42 knots, occurred on March 4th from the West Northwest.
