The Malta Jazz Festival, organised by Festivals Malta, is back for another edition. As one of the flagship events in the agency’s cultural calendar, the festival brings together both local and international artists from the jazz genre.

This year’s edition opened successfully on Monday 7th July at the Valletta Campus Theatre with a performance by the Ġużé Camilleri Quartet and will conclude with two final nights at Ta’ Liesse on the 11th and 12th of July.

During a visit to City Theatre, the Minister for Culture, the Arts and Local Government, Owen Bonnici, expressed his satisfaction at the continued success of the festival, which has now been running for 35 years.

“A festival like this not only brings together local and international musicians, but also elevates Malta’s name in the cultural and musical sectors. It creates a space for the public to enjoy high-quality talent, while also contributing to Malta’s standing as an exceptional cultural destination and strengthening our local artistic community.” said Minister Bonnici.

Festivals Malta CEO Frans Agius added, “The Ta’ Liesse evenings will once again offer a rich programme for jazz lovers. This year’s lineup includes artists such as Peter Bernstein, Michael Mayo, Johnathan Blake, and Knower. City Theatre will also feature performances by Lukmil Pérez, Franck Amsallem, and Rebecca Martin. It’s truly a programme not to be missed.”
