With the Summer Carnival just around the corner, Minister for Culture, Lands and Local Government Owen Bonnici has paid a visit to some of the volunteers preparing for this much-loved annual celebration. The event has become a staple in the Maltese cultural calendar, enjoyed by families from Malta and Gozo as well as visitors from abroad.
This year’s edition is being organised by Festivals Malta and will run from Friday 22 August to Sunday 24 August, with activities scheduled in both Buġibba and Marsaskala. The programme promises a lively mix of entertainment and colourful displays designed to appeal to all ages.
Speaking during his visit, Minister Bonnici highlighted the importance of continuing to invest in cultural traditions that bring people together. He praised the volunteers and organisers for their hard work and expressed confidence that this year’s Carnival will once again prove to be a great success.
