Metsola Speaks About Malta IN United Arab Emirates Speech

Speaking at the special UAE-EU Session at the United Arab Emirates Federal National Council, President Roberta Metsola highlighted Malta’s role in uniting three continents together.
She pointed to language similarities between Arabic and Maltese, like ‘as-salamu alaykum (peace be upon you) which in Maltese we hear traces of in ‘insellmilkom’ (I salute you).
‘A reminder that our stories have long been intertwined, and that the quest for peace is at the core of our peoples’, she said.
