European Parliament President Roberta Metsola, Prime Minister Robert Abela and Opposition Leader Bernard Grech all issued a new year’s message as we move into the year 2025.
Prime Minister Robert Abela’s speech emphasized national pride, unity, and progress. Celebrating Malta’s journey to independence, Abela emphasised unity’s strength over division as he outlined various plans for the coming year and beyond.
Opposition Leader Bernard Grech called for reflection and progress in his New Year speech, emphasizing quality of life, education, health, and sustainable infrastructure. He urged long-term initiatives beyond electoral cycles and highlighted Malta’s potential in adapting to technological revolutions.
Last but not least, European Parliament President Roberta Metsola spoke about how hope was found despite the darkness of war in a year of elections and change. She described Europe as a beacon of light and a superpower of human rights.
