MEP Daniel Attard, the European Parliament’s rapporteur on sustainable tourism, met with EU Commissioners Apostolos Tzitzikostas and Glenn Micallef to advance work on the European Union’s forthcoming strategy for sustainable tourism.
Attard emphasised that tourism itself is not the problem but part of the solution, sustaining Europe’s economic well-being, creating opportunities, and strengthening cultural identity.
He also highlighted the importance of addressing common challenges, including housing, connectivity, and environmental protection, to ensure that the tourism sector develops sustainably and responsibly.
