Mellieha mayor Gabriel Micallef had the chance to meet renowned boxer Tyson Fury and thank him for choosing the island to stay and train.

‘Great meeting Tyson Fury – having the world famous boxing legend here in Mellieha for his training camp is amazing’, said Micallef.

Fury’s arrival in Malta signalled the start of a rigorous regime ahead of his highly anticipated rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.

The “Gypsy King” recently lost his undefeated record to Usyk, who now holds the undisputed heavyweight champion title. Despite the setback, Fury has vowed to come back stronger, confidently stating he will knock out Usyk in their next bout.

‘And every time I explained patiently what it means to keep your moustache during the month of November.’
