Maxine Attard Aquilina welcomes baby James into the world

Performer, charity founder and former Malta’s Got Talent judge Maxine Aquilina has just welcomed baby James into the world with her husband Adrian Attard.

‘Every good and perfect gift is from above’ wrote Maxine, quoting James 1:17. ‘Our perfect baby is here. You are loved beyond measure, Baby James.

DonPe’ Carnival Company declared as Malta Carnival 2023 champions

‘The Masters of Rock’, as created by DonPe’ Carnival Company’s Antoine Grech and Donald Balzan won the first prize in the Triumphal Floats Section ‘A’ during this year’s Valletta carnival.

The second award was bagged by Triton Carnival Company’s ‘Ħlomt b’Karattri Partikolari u bil-Lapes Saru Reali’ (I dreamt of particular characters and they became real through the pencil).

And in third place was ‘Pajjiżi Magħruifn Kemm għadd-Daqq u Anke għaż-Żfin’ (My country is known for music and dance), by Ta’ Nena Carnival Group.

The carnival also awarded various other competitors in various floats sections, children’s companies and dance companies. Grotesque masks, artistic installations were also awarded for their ingenuity.

Tickets for beloved competition Mużika Mużika launch today

The official sales of tickets for the local beloved song competition Mużika Mużika launch today, 23rd February 2022!

The show, which is set to take place between the 23rd and 25th of March 2023, began as Festival Kanzunetta Malta to give a platform for local artists to show what they are truly made of.

In 2021, with the support of the Ministry for National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government, the festival made its big comeback with the title many are familiar with today – Mużika Mużika.

This year’s competition will see some of Malta’s most talented artists – from familiar X-Factor competitors like Justine Shorfid, Drakard & Lisa Gauci, Jasmine and many, many other familiar faces having their go at the winning title. Last year’s winner was Kurt Calleja with his song Bla Tarf.

At least 9 flights delayed due to intense fog all over Malta

Due to the immense fog which befell Malta this morning, insider sources have informed this newsroom that all the delayed flights impacted will be departing soon.

Insider sources have informed MaltaDaily that there were delays of up to 2.5 to 3 hours as the officials and crew awaited clearer visibility for travel.

The situation has reportedly somewhat improved from this morning, with around 9 flights having been delayed according to the Arrivals and Departures information of the Malta International Airport.

Passenger caution is a primary concern on such days with such weather phenomena. The same caution is being advised for all those travelling out on the roads as the lack of visibility make the streets more accident prone.
