A massive queue of hungry customers made their way to the official opening of L’Antica Pizzeria Da Michele, which opened its doors in St Julian’s, Malta.

Videos show long queues outside the establishment as customers await a bite from the renowned pizza maker following weeks of anticipation. 

Founded in 1870, L’ Antica Pizzeria Da Michele is one of the oldest and best pizzerias in Naples and attracts droves of customers, some of them very familiar faces, to dine in their establishments.

It eventually became known as ‘the sacred temple of pizza’ by food specialists and journalists from all over the world, and it is now bringing its delicacies to the Mediterranean island. 

And it seems as though business in Malta is booming, with locals welcoming the opening and the restaurant with slices of their delicious dish.

Andrew Schembri To Be Commemorated With Feast Of Light

Following the tragic passing of Andrew Schembri, a 29-year-old musician and renowned light technician, last week, ‘Il-Festa ta’ Andrew’ was announced as his funeral. 

The funeral invites attendees to wear white, light or colourful clothing to commemorate the professional and personal aspects of Andrew. 

His brother, David, took to social media to share the announcement, writing: ‘We will be celebrating Andrew Schembri’s life and light, and sharing the sorrow of his passing on Saturday 8th July, at 9 a.m. at the Żurrieq Parish Church.’ 

Donations in his memory can be made to Richmond Foundation – Malta or Għaqda Residenti Taż-Żurrieq, ‘who are currently fighting to safeguard the area of Żurrieq he was born and raised in from development.’
