The locality of Marsaxlokk has joined various other towns in Malta in lighting up for the festive season ahead.

With a massive Christmas tree at the centre and various other shining ornaments and structures, the residents will be joining the merry atmosphere that most of the island will be getting into.

Minister for National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government Owen Bonnici joined Parliamentary Secretary Alison Zerafa Civelli in visiting the lighting up of Marsaxlokk. 

Meeting mayor Steven Grech and the Marsaxlokk Local Council, the minister and parliamentary secretary thanked all those who contributed on setting up this spectacle for the Christmas season.

Apart from winning Best New-coming Restaurant, Level Nine By Oliver Glowig was crowned Gozo’s Best Restaurant.

Offering breathtaking sea views, Level nine is situated in the Grand Hotel Gozo in Mġarr, and promises to transport diners to a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere. 

Keeping it small for serenity, the restaurant offers a wide palate of tastes and dishes, promising something for absolutely everyone. 

Oliver Glowig himself is a German born chef with Italy at his heart and is the chef patron of two Michelin starred restaurants.

Malta’s Very Best Restaurants

During the Definitively Good Guide To Restaurant’s Awards, a number of restaurants stuck out for their specific contributions. 

Among them were Il-Kartell, La Mer and Al Sale, who were awarded the Most Dedicated to Supporting Local, Best Local Fish Restaurant & Best Local Wine List respectively. 

(These awards were sponsored by the Ministry for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Rights & Parliamentary Secretariat for the same.)

Meanwhile, Level Nine by Oliver Glowig won Best Restaurant in Gozo, as sponsored by The Ministry for Gozo. 

Level Nine also bagged Best Newcomer (as sponsored by Bookia), with the 1st place winner, de Mondion, also bagging Best Ambience and Best Service. The Phoenix won Best Food whereas Don Royale won the Most Children Friendly Restaurant. 

Diar il-Bniet bagged the best Maltese Restaurant as sponsored by The Malta Tourism Authority and Caviar & Bull won the Most Romantic Restaurant award. Last but not least, The Aft Galley, Busy Bee and Aki won the Best Value for Money Restaurant, Favourite Cafe and Restaurant with Liveliest Atmosphere respectively.
