Maltese born Marisa Abela has just bagged a prestigious BAFTA TV Award for Best Actress for her role on ‘Industry’.

Marisa, who had risen to more prominence due to her portrayal of Amy Winehouse on the biopic ‘Back to Black’, just ticked another bucket list success item on her list, with international news platforms reporting her achievement.

Featured on the front cover Sky News, Marisa Abela was described as taking a ‘surprise win for best actress.’

‘Clearly surprised by her win, and becoming tearful, as she paid tribute to her drama school teacher who she said was in the audience that night, she also paid tribute to her mother, also an actress, without whom she said she’d never be on the stage accepting her first BAFTA aged just 28’, Sky News wrote.
