Marine Life Rescued During Xemxija Sea Clean-Up

Coast is Clear Foundation took to Xemxija for a clean up of one of Malta’s sea beds.
Apart from 645kg of waste being cleared from the water, the team also managed to save a number of marine animals from deadly ghost traps.
That included a large eel, a grouper and an octopus, which had all gotten trapped in debris and rubbish.
Fishing gear, nets, lines, ropes, traps, hooks, plastics, metals, tyres and umbrellas… all were retrieved from the Xemxija sea bed.
