These past couple of weeks have been quite eventful for all Manchester United fans, as they announced the signings of two of the worlds best players, Raphaël Varane and Jadon Sancho. These players will surely help the Red Devils take the next step and become a club aspiring to win the Premier League, instead of only aiming for Champions League qualification.
Jadon Sancho, who the club paid €85 million for, is a right-winger brought in to fill the quite evident hole in their attack. In past seasons many United fans noticed the lack of natural right wingers at the club. United, last season relied heavily on players like Mason Greenwood, who is more comfortable in the center of the park. Fan favourite, Marcus Rashford, who seems better as a left winger and likes to cut inside was also used as a right winger. Manchester United have been linked with Jadon Sancho for over a year now so to finally get their preferred right winger ,and not look for other options, must be a good feeling for fans and staff alike. This move will also feel like a homecoming for Jadon, as before his move to German giants Borussia Dortmund, he was a part of the academy at Manchester City, Manchester United’s local rivals.

Raphaël Varane, who even coach Ole Gunnar Solskjær called a “proven winner”, will add the experience and quality needed in the Manchester United backline. This signing felt like a signing the great Sir Alex Ferguson would have done back in his day, luring the world’s best to come and play at Old Trafford. The French center back was a boyhood fan of the club and considered club legend Rio Ferdinand as his hero growing up. Varane, who is a four times Champions League winner with Real Madrid, and one time World Cup winner will add the winning mentality the team needs as few of their players have actually won a trophy of significance.
With more players like Kieran Trippier and Eduardo Camavinga rumored to be also coming in, Manchester United fans can be assured of a bright future for their club. Varane and Sancho are the signings the club needed to indicate that their back.
