Man Shot During Gzira Bar Fight On Thursday Night

A man has sustained grievous injuries after getting shot during a bar fight in Gzira on Thursday night.

The police were notified of the situation in an establishment in Triq ix-Xatt, Gzira at around 1:00AM.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the man was involved in an argument with two other men, with the situation escalating outside the establishment until one of the men shot the victim. The shooter and his associate reportedly fled the scene.

A medical team was called on site, with an ambulance taking the man to Mater Dei hospital, where he was certified to have sustained grievous injuries from a shot to his lower leg.

An investigation is currently under way.
